An update to the City of Kingston Tree Bylaw was passed by Council in December This Bylaw regulates the removal or injury of trees within the municipality. Anyone wishing to remove a tree must find out whether a tree permit is required. Revisions to the bylaw include the following. As a standard, Council will only remove trees where all options to keep the tree have been explored and are not possible. Reasons that may require the removal of a tree are that it is dead, dying, dangerous, causing damage to infrastructure or an inappropriate species.
